Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Just me this week. Scott Tipton is off somewhere in the Delta Quadrant!
DC Finest: Blue Beetle — Blue Beetle Challenges the Red Knight, DC. A selection of Silver Age Charlton stories featuring the last Dan Garrett adventures and Steve Ditko’s first Ted Kord tales. Books like this are what make the DC Finest line such a gas.

—
Namor, the Sub-Mariner Omnibus Vol. 1, Marvel. The big-book collection of Namor’s earliest Silver Age adventures, featuring the talents of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas, Gene Colan, creator Bill Everett, and others.

—
Fantastic Four #8 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. Loved the mention of the Puppet Master in Fantastic Four: First Steps, didn’t you?

—
Action Comics #1089, DC. I’ve been enjoying Mark Waid and Skylar Patridge’s Superboy stories. I’m reading Action, Supergirl and Krypto right now, but not any Superman solo titles. Funny that.

—
Supergirl #4, DC. Like I just said.

—
Batman: Dark Patterns #9, DC. There have been a number of ballyhooed Batman projects over the past year or so. Nine issues in and this is still the best of the ones I’m reading.

—
Batman: Harley Quinn #1 Facsimile Edition, DC. Paul Dini and Yvel Guichet’s 1999 one-shot brought Harley into the DC Universe proper. I’ve never read it.

Also comes with foil and sketch variants, as well as a Super Powers cover:

—
Godzilla: Here There Be Aliens #3, IDW. Jet Jaguar is my favorite Godzilla character not named Godzilla.

I still believe putting the Ted Kord/Ditko Blue Beetle on the cover of the Blue Beetle DC Finest would have been a more attractive choice for possible buyers.

Michael! I agree. When I saw this, I wondered what they were thinking!
