Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #40, DC. Boy what a trick Waid and co. have done with this series — simultaneously putting it in its own bubble and making it essential DCU reading at the same time. This ish appears to be one of their humorous breathers…

Dan adds: Of all the DC Finest editions so far, this one is the grooviest. Oh, and did you know you can still save the just-cancelled Metamorpho series that is a love letter to these very comics? Well you can!

Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #1, DC. More Krypto comics is always a good thing.

Superman Adventures Compendium One, DC. I recall these being some exceptionally good Superman comics, appearing around the same time as the ’90s animated series.

Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale: Spider-Man, Marvel. Originally published as Spider-Man: Blue, this is a beautifully told tale with wonderful art from the much-missed Tim Sale.
