Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…
—
Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Adventure Comics #210 Facsimile Edition, DC. Not only is this the first appearance of Krypto — your copy just might include a “Golden Biscuit” that’ll get you to Superman’s world premiere in Los Angeles.
—
Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #40, DC. Boy what a trick Waid and co. have done with this series — simultaneously putting it in its own bubble and making it essential DCU reading at the same time. This ish appears to be one of their humorous breathers…
… complete with Stephen Colbert variant, by Dan Mora:
—
Fantastic Four #49, Marvel. Part 2 of the Galactus Trilogy. Must-reading before July 26! (Or July 25, if you’re going Thursday night, like me!)
—
Wonder Woman #22 and Zatanna #5, DC. Featuring the next two George Perez ’80s postcard variants.
—
Batman & Robin: Year One #8, DC. In case you didn’t recognize him, that’s Clayface on the cover.
—
Batman #619 Facsimile Edition, DC. Hush concludes.
—
Power Man: Timeless #4, Marvel. One of the coolest Alex Ross Marvel portrait variants.
—
Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension
DC Finest — Metamorpho: The Element Man, DC. All the original Metamorpho tales from Bob Haney and Ramona Fradon, collected!
Dan adds: Of all the DC Finest editions so far, this one is the grooviest. Oh, and did you know you can still save the just-cancelled Metamorpho series that is a love letter to these very comics? Well you can!
—
Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #1, DC. More Krypto comics is always a good thing.
Dan adds: Yeah, I am all in here.
—
Superman Adventures Compendium One, DC. I recall these being some exceptionally good Superman comics, appearing around the same time as the ’90s animated series.
—
Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale: Spider-Man, Marvel. Originally published as Spider-Man: Blue, this is a beautifully told tale with wonderful art from the much-missed Tim Sale.
Dan adds: It’s excellent.

I love these! Especially the Clayface cover; Bats and Robin’s faces are perfect!
