HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #39, DC. Past Batman and Superman get to see what’s to come. Not gonna be happy about it. But Ultraman and Owlman in the house! Sadly, the Batman Who Laughs just won’t go away.

Fantastic Four #48 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. The first part of the Galactus Trilogy! The rest are coming the next two months.

Our Army at War #151 Facsimile Edition, DC. Just in time for Memorial Day. I just love that DC includes war books in its Facsimile line. This ish features the first appearance of Enemy Ace.

Batman & Robin: Year One #7, DC. Dig the Batman sketch there on the cover. Nice little homage to David Mazzucchelli.

Suicide Squad by John Ostrander Omnibus Vol. 1, DC. A lot of people have been waiting a long time for this.

Dr. Fate by J.M. DeMatteis, DC. A lot of people have been waiting a long time for this, too. Practically an omnibus: 775 pages in softcover.

Batman #617 Facsimile Edition, DC. More Hush. Gotta say I’m really underwhelmed by the sequel.

Superior Avengers #2 Alex Ross “Timeless” Variant Cover, Marvel. Always been a fan of Yellowjacket’s outfit. Garoovy!

Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension

The Legion of Super-Heroes: The Curse, DC. This is my favorite roster and era for the Legion, with Dawnstar and Wildfire in the forefront.

The Vision & The Scarlet Witch #1, Marvel. Back together at last.

Hulk & Doctor Strange #1, Marvel. JMS’ series of team-up one-shots have been steadily satisfying.

The Thing #1, Marvel. Always on board for a new Ben Grimm solo series.

  1. Always wondered what the peripheral vision situation was for Yellowjacket with those ‘wings’. Blind spots, anyone?

    • I was thinking the same. Not to worry, though; if some villain got the better of him, he’d come back because, as we all know, superheroes don’t stay dead.
