Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

The Brave and the Bold #57 Facsimile Edition, DC. The first appearance of Metamorpho, by Bob Haney, Ramona Fradon and Charles Paris! The new Metamorpho series is a must-read — did you catch the return of the Thunderer yet? — and it owes its entire tone and execution to the original. I’ve gone and picked up some more old Silver Age issues and, my lord, are they great comics. Comes in foil- and sketch-cover flavors too.
—
Two-Face #6, DC. Stop it, man. You’re grossing me out.
—
Archie Facsimile #4: Betty and Veronica #320, Archie. Interesting naming convention there. Anyway, this is the first appearance of Cheryl Blossom, along with a good ol’ double entendre cover.
—
Star Wars #1, Marvel. Written by our pal Alex Segura, with art by Phil Noto! Post-Return of the Jedi.
Plus, dig this variant cover. Nice!
—
Batman #616 Facsimile Edition, DC. Batman, Ra’s, swords.
—
West Coast Avengers #7 (and other titles), Marvel. The new run of Alex Ross “Timeless” variants kicks off this month.
—
Nightwing: The Prince of Gotham Omnibus, DC. Biggest physical cliche in superhero comics? The three-point landing. Second-biggest? The knees-wide, comin’-down-at-ya crotch shot.

DC Finest — Events: Zero Hour Crisis in Time, Part Two, DC. I like this approach to collecting the big summer events, where you get the main miniseries and all the corresponding crossovers all at once.
—
JSA #7, DC. Uh-oh. I don’t like the looks of this for Wildcat…
—
Superman — Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, DC. This may be the biggest single work by George Perez that I’ve never read. Probably need to investigate. (Click here for what Perez himself had to say about it.)
—
The Avengers Epic Collection: Court-Martial, Marvel. One of my favorite periods in Avengers history, with the inductions of Tigra and She-Hulk!
—
Fantastic Four Fanfare #1, Marvel. This new FF anthology features work by some of my favorite people, like Mark Waid, Alan Davis and Sara Pichelli!
Dan adds: Given that I have read precious little Fantastic Four in my life, this seems like it’s worth checking out, just to get a little immersed. (I’m also reading the FF Facsimile Editions.)
