Metamorpho: The Element Man #2, DC. All I have to say is what I said in this piece: If You Love Classic Comics, Then You Must Read DC’s New METAMORPHO. And it’s really, really true. Highest recommendation. I’m getting the Guillem March variant:

Scott adds: Element Girl is back? Outstanding!

Comic Book Creator #37, TwoMorrows. Steve Englehart? Can’t go wrong. Also a good time to remind you that my lengthy, intensive Batman interview with Steve will be included in TwoMorrows’ upcoming illustrated bio Marshall Rogers: Brightest Days & Darkest Knights. CBC #37 will be at comics shops and mag sellers but you can also get it directly from the publisher. Click here.

Justice League Unlimited #3, DC. Still taking it issue by issue, but I like what I’ve seen so far. (I have a hard time committing to ongoings unless I’m immediately blown away, like Metamorpho.)
—
Archie Is Mr. Justice #2, Archie. There’ve been 1,000,006 homages to George Perez’s Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 cover, so what’s one more? This is fun.

Scott Tipton, columnist, 13th Dimension
Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon #1, Marvel. The first of J. Michael Straczynski’s wacky Marvel team-up one-shots!
—
Astro City Metrobook Vol. 6, Image. Astro City is always a must-buy. Collects Vol. 3 Issues #35-52.
—
Limited Collectors’ Edition #C-48: Superman vs. the Flash Facsimile Edition, DC. I can’t get enough of these treasury-size reprints. Like a white-hot shot of nostalgia.
Dan adds: He’s right. There were a ton of these and hopefully DC will keeping doing this for a good, long time. And it’s way past due for Marvel to get on board! This edition has foil and sketch covers, by the by.

Iron Man Epic Collection Vol. 13: Stark Wars, Marvel. It’s Tony Stark versus anyone using his stolen armor tech, in this classic run from David Michelinie, Bob Layton and Mark Bright!

Ha! I do it for love. Not their love. But because I love it!

DC is firing on all cylinders right now, IMHO. I think I am actively reading almost every title currently being published by them, not just paging through. Highlights for me are: Superman & Action Comics, World’s Finest, Green Lantern, Batgirl, Justice League Unlimited, Black Lightning, Challengers of the Unknown, Metamorpho, Birds of Prey, and The New Gods. Even books I was skeptical about are turning out wonderfully and adding to the characters in great ways (I was very wary of the Absolute books, but they are a blast!). Plus, I am loving the background doom that is slowly building across the DCU.
I’ve been reading DC for 44+ years now through highs and lows. This 100% is a high point.
