Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Alan Scott: Green Lantern #5, DC. OK, show me something, folks. Dug the way it began, it’s been lagging in the middle, hoping it picks up steam down the stretch. Some serious Green Lantern vs. Red Lantern action could be just the ticket.
—
Betty and Veronica: Decades — The 1970s, Archie. Groovy collection! The Riverdale characters who are the most fun to read, with stories from my favorite Archie decade.
—
The Amazing Spider-Man #46 Mark Brooks Headshot Variant, Marvel. Been really digging these covers and this is my fave. Because, y’know, it’s Spider-Man. With Romita eyes.
—
Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale Hulk: Gallery Edition, Marvel. The classic modern exploration of the Hulk’s early days in a size that’s just a shade smaller than a classic treasury edition.
—
X-Men ’97 #1, Marvel. My lord, everyone’s going bananas for the new animated series, aren’t they?
—
Scott Tipton, columnist, 13th Dimension
Harley Quinn #38, DC Comics. Hard to pass up this adorable roller derby cover by Terry Dodson.
—
JLApe: The Complete Collection, DC Comics. I feel like I don’t even need to explain why you need to buy this. JLApe.
—
Jackpot and Black Cat #1, Marvel. The first two MJ/Felicia teamup books were quite enjoyable, but this one is by a different creative team, so you pays your money and you takes your chances. (Cover by Adam Hughes.)
—
Wonder Man: The Saga of Simon Williams, Marvel. This isn’t a bad Wonder Man retrospective collection, but it feels like it’s missing some important beats, especially from the West Coast Avengers years and his return from the dead in Busiek and Perez’s Avengers run. (Click here for the full list of what’s inside.)
