HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

The Flash #123 Facsimile Edition, DC. Hey folks, I’m solo this week. Scott’s on a secret mission. Anyway, here goes: The Flash #123 — which gave us the birth of the DC Multiverse — has been released as a Facsimile Edition already but you can’t keep a good classic down.

This one’s got a sketch variant (which I’m getting) and a foil variant (which I’m not because I have to draw the line somewhere, though it is tempting).

Marvel Two-in-One Epic Collection: Two Against Hydra, Marvel. Another reminder that the Thing was once so popular he had his own team-up book.

Rom: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus, Marvel. If I didn’t pick this, Chris Ryall would never speak to me again.

I mean, look at this guy:

By the way, there are FOUR covers for this $125 heavyweight! The one above is the main cover — Frank Miller’s Rom #1 front.

Superior Spider-Man #3 Wolverine 50th Anniversary Variant Cover, Marvel. By Betsy Cola. Ga-roovy!

The X-Men #4, Marvel. Like The Flash #123, this Facsimile Edition has been published before. Unlike The Flash #123, this features the first appearances of the Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Mastermind and Toad.

’Toon Tumblers Jet Jaguar Pint Glass, PopFun Merchandising. Jet Jaguar! Jet Jaguar! Love that guy. Godzilla vs. Megalon may not be the best Godzilla movie, but it holds a special place in my heart because I watched it with my Mom when I was a kid and she was as tickled by it as I was. Too bad Jet Jaguar never teamed up with Ultraman, right?

  1. I remember Rom when it first came out. It was so much more than just a promotional for a toy. Loved the art, story, characters. My copy of the omnibus should be on its way from Amazon. Looking forward to it as well as Micronauts.

  2. This will be the THIRD go-around for Flash #123, which had facsimile editions released 2/26/20 and 1/10/23. Meanwhile, they keep holding out on Green Lantern #76, which was scheduled to come out in 2020 but was cancelled due to the pandemic.

  3. Rom’s storyline would greatly affect The X-men. Rogue kissed Rom and absorbed his kind heart which was instrumental in changing her prior evil ways. Dire Wraiths were cool villains too!
