Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Legends of the Dark Knight: Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, DC. Long-delayed but finally here. By the way, the volume includes Batman Confidental #26-28, a really fun Batman/Riddler story that features the first comics appearance of King Tut, though he’s quite different from Victor Buono’s version. (He still gets an homage.)
—
Marvel Masterworks: Daredevil Vol. 17, Marvel. The end of Frank Miller’s run. What more is there to say?
—
Planet of the Apes Adventures: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus, Marvel. Collects the 11-issue, mid-’70s series that reprinted in color the adaptations of the first two movies from Marvel’s black-and-white Planet of the Apes magazine. A must-have if you don’t have the originals.
—
Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #14, DC. For years I’ve pined for a modern Batman and Robin series that takes place in the Dynamic Duo’s early days. This wonderful series by Mark Waid, Dan Mora and Tamra Bonvillain is the closest I’ve seen — and we’re getting a Teen Titans spinoff this summer. Groo. Vee.

Batman #357 Facsimile Edition Sketch Variant — Second Printing, DC. Yeah, you read that right: A second printing for a sketch cover variant. You know what that says to me? It says Batman fans have good taste in logos. Can’t wait for the Batman #181 sketch variant due in May. Hopefully it’ll have Go-Go Checks!
—
Superman #3, DC. Dig that Steve Rude variant! Reminiscent of The Mechanical Monsters, from the 1940s Fleischer series (which has been remastered and will be re-released in May.)
—
Avengers Assemble Omega #1, Marvel. Dig that Alex Ross variant! Reminiscent of AWESOME.
—
Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension
The Flash #797, DC. Enjoy writer Jeremy Adams’ endlessly entertaining Flash run while you can! (It ends with Issue #800.)
—
Iron Man Epic Collection: Doom, Marvel. Worth buying just for the classic “Iron Man and Doctor Doom in Camelot” team-up!
—
She-Hulk #12 (Legacy #175), Marvel. My favorite comic on the shelves these days, with consistently outstanding covers by Jen Bartel.

Gotta love that Steve Rude cover variant for the “Superman” world.

I agree!

That Batman ( or BAT MAN) logo is the best ever.
