HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Marvel Value Stamps: A Visual History, Abrams ComicArts/Marvel. The long-awaited guide by Roy Thomas is finally getting released! Woo hoo! The book is in comics shops March 22 and will be released to the general book market March 28. Look for lots of coverage here at 13th Dimension!

Scott adds: Another great Marvel history offering from Abrams. I got a sneak peek at this last year at San Diego Comic-Con; it’s a must-have.

The Avengers #9 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. “Marvel Proudly Introduces… WONDER MAN.” It’s the latest Marvel Facsimile Edition. If you keep buying them, they’ll keep making them. So buy, BUY, BUY!!!

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #13, DC. Classicish Batman, classicish Superman and classicish Metamorpho. By Mark Waid, Dan Mora and Tamra Bonvillain. What’s not to love?

Green Hornet Deluxe Action Figure, Diamond Select. Kato goes it alone! Diamond Select has a Bruce Lee license so they were able to swing this groovy 7-inch action figure, with extra hands, accessories and whatnot. The company does not, however, have a Van Williams license — at least as far as I know — so Kato gets to star in his own adventures. Lists for $24.99.

Archie Decades: The 1960s, Archie. A nifty Silver Age trade paperback collection. Far out!

Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension

Power Girl: Power Trip, DC. I really enjoyed this Power Girl run from a few years back. Gray, Palmiotti and Connor had the best handle on the character since her creation back in the ’70s.

Dan adds: Latest trade collection of the best Power Girl stories to date, by Geoff Johns, Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner and Paul Mounts. Collects JSA Classified #1-4 and Power Girl #1-12.

Doctor Strange #1, Marvel. I see the whole “Clea-as-the-new-Sorcerer-Supreme” experiment is already over.

Marvel Masterworks: Dazzler Vol. 4, Marvel. Wrapping up Alison Blaire’s original solo run, these last few Dazzler issues feature some cool early work by Concrete’s Paul Chadwick.

  1. What absolutely wonderful picks these are. I’ve gotta get back to reading that “World’s Finest” book.
