EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: Bill Sienkiewicz’s Marvelous REVOLUTION

A SNEAK PEEK at the artist’s career retrospective…

On Sunday, we launched THE BILL SIENKIEWICZ INTERVIEWS, a three-part series in which the modern master discusses his creative origins and influences. (Click here. You’ll dig it. He gets into his fave Silver Age comics and gives his initial impressions of Neal Adams’ art.)

Now, as promised, we bring you an EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of Bill Sienkiewicz: Revolution, Vol. 1, the first in a three-part hardcover career retrospective published by Six Foot Press.

Revolution will cover Sienkiewicz’s robust 40-year career and Vol. 1 will be available at comics shops and booksellers this week. It features an introduction by Neil Gaiman, an essay by art critic Ben Davis and an in-depth interview with the artist by Chul R. Kim. It runs 216 pages and lists for $49.95.

There’s also a signed and numbered limited edition that includes 40 prints and a booklet that runs for $350. (Click here for details.)

Obviously, the book is jammed with a broad array of Sienkiewicz’s art and we’ve got three images to share with you EXCLUSIVELY.

Dig these evocative pieces by the recently inducted Eisner Hall of Famer:

By the way, if you think the book is all Marvel, it very much is not. Click here for some DC pages. (And there are plenty of other themes represented too.)

Bill Sienkiewicz: Revolution, Vol. 1, is available at booksellers starting Tuesday and comics shops Wednesday.
