Yoe Comics and IDW’s archival series has reached the (loving) end.
—
One of my biggest kicks the last few years has been previewing the latest issues of Weird Love, Craig Yoe and Clizia Gussoni’s bimonthly love letter to unhinged romance comics from the mid-20th century.
Well, the series, which has featured sweaty scores of volumptuous vamps and cruel cads, is coming to an end with Issue #24 — out 5/30. (The issues have also been collected in a series of shelf-friendly hardcovers.)
There’s always a chance the series could come back at some point, should more bizarre gems be uncovered from the romance comics of yore. Until then, the tunnel of Weird Love is closed. (And, hey, I’m honored to be the last cover blurb down there at the bottom!)
So it’s with no small — if lurid — lament that we bring you the final EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of Weird Love:

Maybe now they can work on a Fawcett revival….Captain Marvel in particular. I suppose DC would tie it up though…
