EXCLUSIVE ART! Marvel Ending FF? Well, Dark Horse is Stepping In!

Kinda. Sorta. Fred Van Lente’s Secrets of Project Black Sky may cure what ails you.

OK, we kid. In a way. With all the hubbub about Marvel possibly, maybe cancelling its first modern superhero title, Fantastic Four, which if it happens, won’t be forever, movietalk, inside-bizspeak, etc. etc. etc., just check out Bleeding Cool, you oughta read Van Lente’s daily webcomic:

Why? Because it’s pretty awesome and inventive. Last week, we told you all about it. Basically, in this universe, some of your fave superhero tales are turned upside down. The first one — “The Field” — dealt with a rocketship that landed in a field in 1938 …

The current story — “The Launch,” with gorgeous, cinematic art by Michael Broussard — deals with four astronauts in 1961 bestowed with, ahem, fantastic powers. And it all goes wrong really, really fast.

So to allay those Marvel-ous jitters, sit down, put on a cold compress, and, as a guy named Stan might have said: BEHOLD! (Oh, and come meet Fred at the NEW YORK COMIC FEST on June 14!)
