EMPEROR DOOM: 1987 AVENGERS Graphic Novel to Be Republished by MARVEL

EXCLUSIVE! Coming in November!

Marvel Comics in November will publish three Facsimile Editions and all hail from the Bronze Age. They’re a varied bunch, so each gets its own article. You can find all the links below!

But there’s more: There will also be a reprint of 1987’s Emperor Doom, featuring the Avengers, aka Marvel Graphic Novel #27.

Dig the official solicitation info, which will be released formally later this week:

EMPEROR DOOM #1

BOB HALL (A/C)

MOMO-TONE VARIANT COVER BY PEACH MOMOKO
VARIANT COVER BY TBA

Doctor Doom conquers the world — but the Avengers won’t stand for that! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes take on Marvel’s greatest villain in an all-time classic graphic novel reprinted in comic-book format! Amplifying the Purple Man’s mind-control powers, Doctor Doom bends the whole planet to his will…save for one man. One Wonder Man! Simon Williams’ ionic nature keeps his mind clear; all he needs to do is to persuade his fellow Avengers to his cause — and you can bet that Captain America has what it takes to spearhead the resistance! Doom’s reign may have made Earth a better place, but is world peace worth the complete and total loss of free will? That’s the philosophical quandary at the heart of this super-hero saga! Reprinting MARVEL GRAPHIC NOVEL: EMPEROR DOOM (1987).

64 PGS./Rated T+… $7.99
On Sale 11/11

Buncha thoughts:

— Why is this not considered a Facsimile Edition? Because the original was printed at a larger scale and this will be standard comic-book format. This is similar to September’s Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph And Torment.

— Three guesses why Marvel is printing this in November.

— As I mentioned up top, there are three Bronze Age Facsimiles coming from the House of Ideas in November. Links below!

Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, NM copy of a 1987 first printing recently sold on eBay for about $40.
