Dig This SNEAK PEEK at the Upcoming BATMAN & ROBIN: YEAR ONE — DYNAMIC DUOS #1

Plus, three of the variant covers!

Batman & Robin: Year One — Dynamic Duos (that’s right, Duos), by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee and co., will launch in August from DC. You can read all about the 12-issue continuation of the fan-fave Batman & Robin: Year One over here.

But howzabout a SNEAK PEEK? And howzabout a look at three of the four variant covers — by Marc Silvestri, Dustin Nguyen, and Hayden Sherman. (There will also be a Dark Knight Returns 40th anniversary variant cover by Greg Capullo. It was not revealed Wednesday with the rest of the art.)

Dig this:

Main cover by Chris Samnee and Mat Lopes

Silvestri

Nguyen

Sherman

Looks like Waid and Samnee are giving us their take on early-days villain the Monk. We’ll find out for sure when Issue #1 is released August 12.

Oh, and about this Duos business? Sink your fangs into this.

  1. The artwork is as beautiful as ever.
Samnee’s art was definitely the attraction of the first series, and looks to be for this sequel as well.

  2. I’m down for this. The only new version of a BATMAN comic that will see me pull on a monthly basis. I agree the story dropped off [some] in the last run but it was very enjoyable all the way through. Give the creators room to breathe and keep these up. I don’t need continuity of a mainline….I just need good stories of my favorite character.
