Samm Schwartz is widely recognized as the Jughead artist so fans who pick up World of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #121 are in for a treat: Included in the ish is a 1963 laff riot written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Schwartz — “Superjug,” in which our hatted hero gains superpowers by picking an alien rock up off the sidewalk.
The story first appeared in Archie’s Pal Jughead #99 and you can find it below as part of this EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of the digest, out July 13. I love Samm Schwartz’s work on Jughead and Tippy Teen (for Tower). I love how the characters go beyond the comic book panel at times. Great stuff!
