Dig the Groovy Glory of SGT. ROCK’s Action Figures and Vehicles

When Remco took on DC’s toughest soldier…

Memorial Day is only two weeks away, but we’re getting a head start with this EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT from Back Issue #127 — the Soldiers Issue — due May 26.

The issue is jam-packed with Bronze Age war stories, as the table of contents shows:

But one story that really caught my eye was Mike Pigott’s brief history of Remco’s Sgt. Rock toys.

I was completely unaware of this small-scale Easy Co. until adulthood, so I found it particularly informative.

So dig this piece — and again, it only scratches the surface of what’s a very compelling issue. Pick it up!

Back Issue #127 is due May 26. It’ll be available through comics shops and magazine sellers but you can also order it directly from publisher TwoMorrows. Click here.

  1. Remco, though… ugh. Bottom of the barrel of action-figure makers. They should have done an article on those limited-edition DC figures that were put out by Hasbro as part of the 12″ G.I. JOE line…. Enemy Ace, Blackhawk, Mlle. Marie, etc.
