Glorious.

As part of our Stan Lee coverage, I contacted a number of top comics professionals — such as Mike Allred, Jamal Igle and Mark Waid — about their view of Stan the Man. (Click here.)
Artist David Mack was among them — but he sent over something so special, I wanted to give it its own spotlight, along with his almost poetic comments:
—
Stan Lee left this universe today. At 95 in our Earth years.
This painting is based on a photo and it’s a sentimental moment for me: We were in the green room of Kevin Smith’s Hulu show Spoilers, talking about writing.
Writing Daredevil.
With Stan Lee.
He was telling me about his take on the character from its beginnings. And I told him about how writing Daredevil was my first work for Marvel and my thoughts on the character.
I saw him in Japan last December and he jaunted off to the Great Wall of China, just full of energy. Lots of energy — and dreams he gave us in the language of comics.
