A 90th anniversary celebration of the publisher’s important characters and moments…

DC’s Showcase has been a comic book, a trade paperback series, and a publication to show off new talent.
There’s probably more, but now it’s also a coloring book!
Coming in August is DC Showcase: The Official Coloring Book, which celebrates 90 years of the publisher’s history.

The 64-pager will be released by Insight Editions and takes an interesting tack with the art, according to online samples: Rather than use vintage images — which Insight has done in the past — the illustrations instead pay homage to many of the key covers and moments from DC’s catalogue.
Here are some samples:

The book lists for $14.99 and is due Aug. 26. It’s not clear who did the art — that JLI page looks like Kevin Maguire, for example, but it could just as easily be someone copying his style. We’ll update this once we have more info.

Hmmm. That looks like a fun, contemplative activity. Very tempted. I would need to buy some high-quality colored pencils or some such for the effort (in contrast to those cheap, waxy Crayola Crayons of childhood days).
And I certainly recognize here the homages to Showcase # 4 (intro-ing the Silver Age Flash), Showcase # 22 (Silver Age Green Lantern) The Dark Knight Returns, and (post-Crisis) Justice League # 1, and what I presume is Adventure Comics # 247 (Superboy’s first meeting with the Legion). I’m out of the loop on later stuff, even if I recognize heroes and teams (viz. Adam Strange, Orion, Wonder Woman and Birds of Prey)

Dan, were you ever able to find out who did the art for this book?
