Clear your decks in November, Facsimile Edition fans: DC Comics has added seven such full-on reprints to its fall schedule — six in November, and an early solicitation for one in December. (And yes, there will be plenty more in December, but that news is about a month away.) Not just that, we have some BIG related news coming Friday! (UPDATED: Here it is! It’s huge!)
Now to keep it all straight, we’ve broken the selection down into multiple parts, because several of these demand solo treatment and exploration. You can find the links to everything at the bottom of this post. Gotta tell you, though. DC has had a great year with its Facsimiles but there’s still a lot of killer stuff to come.

Hard pass for me. These comics were my exit from my monthly hobby that had started mid-70s. But I’m all over the GA and SA facsimiles announced! DC keep ‘em coming and I’ll buy (some) ‘em!

100% agree. Batman and Green Lantern? These are books already way over-printed during the 90s glut.

Maybe so, but did you see the going rates in the price comparisons? I’m not at all nostalgic for the ’90s myself but remember, that was now 30 years ago and there are plenty of people who are. If the more modern Facsimiles didn’t sell, DC wouldn’t make them. There’s more than one type of collector out there.

I’m one of those people. My comics teeth cutting years are really 1983-1997. I’ve been beside myself with the glut of 1986 reprints this year–that was literally when I was going to 7-11 for slurpees and funny books!

Facsimiles by the numbers:
By November, Marvel has 172 published facsimile issues. DC will be at 193 *planned* (I’m counting the eventual Watchmen #4-12 here.)
We’ll be at 36 issues of Batman proper and 18 of Detective (plus, again, various facsimiles of Batman specials, Elseworlds, etc.).
Always good to see another Superman in there: now we’re at 8 issues of Action, 3 of Adventure, and 5 of the original series (plus 2 of the post-Crisis issues).
The failure to reprint Kingdom Come #1-3 in its 30th anniversary year is baffling. If they want to hurry up and churn out those issues before November, go for it. They’ll sell!
I picked up my LCE Batman Treasury yesterday. Really hoping we resume publishing those (again, I’m bummed they didn’t do “Ghosts” for this October). Dan seems to be holding his cards close, but hoping for LCE C-34, Christmas with the Super Heroes, for this December.

The only thing I can guess is that something is coming in November/December that ties into Kingdom Come #4. I can’t think of what. I know Mark Waid had a Kingdom Come storyline in World’s Finest years ago, but I don’t think that’s still going.
I noted before that there’s a slew of DC Millennium Editions that still don’t have a facsimile equivalent. Kingdom Come #1 was one of them. It’s a no-brainer. If they did #1 *and* #4, I’d be like: okay, that’s a defensible choice, maybe. But come on: #1, 2, and 3 will all sell.
