CRISIS ON MULTIPLE EARTHS: Dig These 13 Fab JLA-JSA Team-Up Splash Pages

A DIGGING FOR KRYPTONITE Special: All those heroes!

Anthony Desiato’s popular podcast Digging for Kryptonite is launching a new series Tuesday — Red Skies, a (coincidentally) 13-part exploration of DC’s Crises, from the original JLA-JSA team-up 60 years ago to the recent Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The series will run into October and I’m honored to be the guest on the kickoff installment — dubbed Crisis on Multiple Earths, where Anthony and I go deep into the interdimensional crossovers of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s that led up to the epic 1985 Crisis on Infinite Earths.

So click here for a listen (or check out your fave podcast platform) — and dig these 13 FAB JLA-JSA TEAM-UP SPLASH PAGES, all from the early-to-mid-’70s. (Side note: Want more of these? Check out the links below.)

  2. I never was a big fan of Dick Dillin’s art, but always saw his work as professional, clear, and engaging. Having Perez take over from him was a wonderful change, but so sad that it was due to his untimely passing.
These summer JLA events were my intro to one of my most favorite teams – the mighty JSA!

  3. Oh, I remember these! I didn’t stop to think back then that #135’s splash page was an homage to #102 & #103

  4. And the splash pages – had I been more observant – would have revealed which of the 7 Soldiers of Victory had died by that person’s absence!

  5. JLA #135 was one of the very first issues of that title I bought. Maybe it was because I’ve read stories about it since I was 9, but the multiverse concept never seemed confusing to me.

I’ve downloaded that episode of the podcast. Looking forward to listening to it this weekend!
