Leaping from 1973 to 2026… DC Comics this week promoted a pewter statue that depicts Neal Adams’ classic cover for 1973’s Batman #251.  I guess this has been hiding at DC’s website for some time but this is certainly the first time I’ve seen it. Illustrator Alan Quah and sculptor Mufizal Mokhtar’s impactful interpretation sees a menacing pewter Joker looming out of Neal Adams’ dramatic 1973 cover art, with Batman seemingly helpless. Malaysians Quah and Mufizal, both highly respected by the international comics and collectibles communities, collaborated on this limited edition. — A few thoughts: — The statue stands 22 cm tall, including base, x 17.5 cm x 20 cm. That’s about 8 2/3 inches tall. — It’s produced by Malaysia’s Royal Selangor and lists for $660. — It’s not the only statue of this particular cover. — I suppose you could say this depicts Adams’ cover one second later.
