Brooklyn-based artist Gregory Benton’s labor of love, “B+F,” is hitting this fall and it deserves your attention.
Benton had drawn a 17-page version for the 2013 MoCCA Fest in the spring, in a limited, oversized edition. The work won a festival prize. Then came buzz and an exhibit at the Society of Illustrators.
Now, the affable Benton’s getting to take the book wide. A 64-page version of the story will be published this month by Adhouse in the US and Editions Ça et La in France.
As Benton put it: “’B+F’ explores an otherworldly terrain with a woman and a dog as they encounter its denizens, both benevolent and malicious. It’s a wordless meditation on goodwill, hostility, and isolation.”
The hardcover will run $24.95 and will be available in shops and online. A 10-page preview can be downloaded here from the Adhouse books site: http://www.adhousebooks.com/books/bplusf.html
