BATMAN TITLES to Get Retro-Style CORNER BOXES in September

Oh, hooray!

We’re into corner boxes around these parts, as you know. So I was pretty darned tickled when I saw Batman artist Jorge Jimenez’s online post of his corner box for October’s Batman #2:

Now, I knew there was a schmancy new corner box for Batman #1 — which comes out Wednesday — but I didn’t realize such retro-style embellishments would be adorning all the Bat-titles in September, running into October.

Dig these:

DC started doing this with its Summer of Superman initiative, featuring art by Dan Mora. We’ll know soon enough how long this will last — and whether other books will start getting the same treatment.

Regardless, I’m glad they’re here now.

Oh, and hey, check out this SNEAK PEEK at Batman #1.

  1. Looks cool, but disappointed there’s no corner box for Birds of Prey. Is that title not part of the Batman family?

  2. I love this. I hope it goes line-wide. Maybe the team books can rotate the featured character dependent on the story. And doing it on the right side for the Absolute titles will help drive home the bullet and number being flipped to signify a reversed reality.
