BATMAN DAY to Feature New Light-Up BATMAN ’66 Statue

The Dynamic Duo in the Gotham sky…

DC on Wednesday announced a whole raft of events and merch for Batman Day, which is Sept. 16 this year:

The retro-est thing we saw? A Batman ’66 light-up statue featuring Adam West and Burt Ward’s Dynamic Duo. Check out this promo image, followed by the official description:

An impressive, 1:8 scale, handcrafted sculpture, the Batman Classic TV Series Light Up Masterpiece Sculpture features the Dynamic Duo posed heroically atop the Gotham City Police Department, answering the illuminated Bat-Signal. The poses, facial expressions, composition, and costuming—including genuine fabric and satiny-finish capes—magnificently evoke the heroic and laser-focused diligence of TV’s most beloved crime-fighters.

A couple thoughts:

— In case you weren’t sure, 1:8 scale is about 9 inches tall.

— The statue, produced by the Bradford Exchange, has a list price of $249.99 and is expected at the DC Shop on Sept. 16. (You can also get it through the manufacturer now, should you be so inclined.)
