Right on! — Dan

Italian filmmakers in the 1960s were so fixated on the Batmania phenomenon that they produced enough movies to stock a Justice League of Italy: The low-budget costumed exploits of Superargo, Argoman, Goldface and more, were a heady mix of costumed superheroics, Bondian espionage, beautiful women and both intentional and unintentional camp.

Many of the films are accessible now to American viewers who want a wacky and wild time:

Zowie! by Mark Voger, is a 192-page, full-color hardcover that lists for $43.95. It is scheduled to be released July 31 and will be available through booksellers and comics shops. You can also pre-order it directly from TwoMorrows. Click here.
