AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #262: Issue With Famed Photo Cover Gets FACSIMILE EDITION Date

PLUS: Secret Wars and Doctor Doom!

Marvel’s got three Facsimile Editions slated for November. You can read about one of them here — but here’s your li’l ol’ round-up of the month’s Amazing Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Facsimiles.

One more month to go for these 40th anniversary runs, but right here are a couple of doozies.

The first is The Amazing Spider-Man #262, featuring Marvel staffer Eliot R. Brown’s well-known photo cover of an unmasked Peter Parker (played by stuntman and store-appearance Spidey Scott Leva). Brown gives a great account of the cover at his website. — and you can get your hands on the Facsimile on Nov. 20.

There’s also Secret Wars #11, which gives center stage (again) to Doctor Doom, who for some reason is getting a lot of attention lately.

Anyway, dig the solicitation info, to be released officially later in August by Marvel:

A few thoughts:

— What a looker Victor is, huh?

— Don’t forget: There’s another Marvel Facsimile coming in November — and it’s not about mutants!

— I’ve always wanted a copy of that photo cover, so groovy.

Obligatory Price Comparisons: An unslabbed, high-grade copy of Secret Wars #11 recently sold on eBay for about $25. The Spidey issue goes for little more than the Facsimile’s $4.99 cover price.
