All the Silver and Bronze Age MARVEL EPIC COLLECTIONS Coming in 2026 — So Far

With some ’90s thrown in…

We’ve done a ton of classic DC trade collection coverage the last couple weeks (with more to come), so it’s time to catch up with what’s happening with Marvel.

There are a slew of Epic Collections planned through July 2026 — mostly new editions with a trio of re-releases in the mix — covering most of the big names: Spider-Man, the Avengers, the X-Men, the Hulk, Thor and the Fantastic Four among them.

Dig these, with their official descriptions, in chronological order:

X-MEN EPIC COLLECTION: LIFEDEATH

Chris Claremont, John Romita Jr., Al Milgrom

Chris Claremont’s decades-spanning run on the X-Men continues, now joined by artistic legend John Roimita Jr.!

John Romita Jr. joins Chris Claremont as the X-Men’s chart-topping adventures continue! Drama abounds as Cyclops heads off on his honeymoon with Madelyne Pryor, Wolverine’s relationship with Mariko takes a turn for the worse and Kitty Pryde is kidnapped and forced to marry the Morlock Caliban. Meanwhile, Rogue is public enemy number one and anti-mutant sentiment threatens the passage of a law that will strip every mutant in the United States of their rights. There’s no shortage of action either: Colossus battles Juggernaut, Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants return and Rachel Summers arrives on the scene. And in a miniseries with major implications for both characters, Wolverine and Kitty Pryde head to Japan and go to war with the yakuza. This volume is topped off by Claremont and Barry Windsor-Smith’s stunning “Lifedeath.”

COLLECTING: UNCANNY X-MEN (1981) #176-188, KITTY PRYDE AND WOLVERINE (1984) #1-6 and material from MARVEL FANFARE (1982) #40

  1. Lots of goodies here!

But Marvel needs to back up and release some missed volumes… in particular:

Namor the Sub-Mariner v2 (incl Buscema run)

Silver Surfer v2 (iconic Buscema run)

    These top my list.

  2. Perhaps I’m an optimist because of Marvel not giving the contents of the last Micronauts Epic vol., but is it posible that Marvel is negotiating the X-Men LS? Or perhaps died Marvel want people to blindly buy the vol. thinking that the LS would be included?

    • Hard to tell… I’ve seen two new volumes listed (two different names) but there’s only a small number of issues left to reprint. There’s v1 #51-59, the X-men LS #1-4, and v2 #1-20. Maybe a Bug mini in the 1990s? Still not enough for 2 volumes and probably too much for just one.

    • It’s probably going to be the second run of Micronauts which had the subtitle “New Voyages” and ran 20 issues

  3. Is the Mighty Marvel Masterworks line dead? These smaller books were great to give to children to pique their reading interest.
