A tribute to George Perez…
As you know, Alex Ross is doing connecting variant covers for JLA/Avengers #3 (July 22) and Avengers/JLA #4 (Aug. 26).
The combined image (above) homages George Perez’s cover for 1983’s Comics Interview #6, which featured the aborted original crossover:
Now, Ross has announced that the two cover images will be available as high-end prints that can be hung to form a diptych.

The panels are billed as San Diego Comic-Con exclusives, but you can join the waitlist to pre-order. The panels are limited to only 25 each, so I expect these will list for a very pretty penny.

Yikes! I guess I should’ve realized these prints would be super rare.
at least I’ve secured my copies of the variant covers. I’ll just be happy having that.

So much of Alex Ross’ stuff is super way out there. The work is just not made for the average everyday fan. Maybe it’s impossible to produce a print normal fans can afford. I just don’t know.
