Leap tall buildings with this INSIDE LOOK at George Reeves’ classic show…
Hey, cool: RetroFan’s Halloween issue — featuring an interview with Dark Shadows’ David Selby — is out Oct. 21, just in time for the holiday.
But it’s not all vampires, werewolves and ghosts. There are plenty of other terrific stories in RetroFan #11 — and one that caught my eye was a big feature on TV’s Adventures of Superman.
As I’ve noted before, this has been the year where I really appreciated the show for the first time, so I was naturally drawn not just to the issue’s in-depth history of George Reeves’ iconic show but a series of 10 debunked myths about it. (If only there were 13!)

I’ve been watching reruns of “The Adventures of Superman” on the H&I network and enjoying them immensely. It’s been almost 50 years since I watched the series as a child. It’s a little hokey – particularly the last season or two, but the cast is great and it’s a lot of fun.

Yet as pre-school age baby boomers unable to read comic books TAOS was our Superman just as very young children saw 1966 Adam West BATMAN as a superhero crime-fighter while older viewers saw a silly campy sitcom. ☺
