A DICK GIORDANO BATMAN Merchandising Art Gallery

An EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW of TwoMorrows’ Back Issue #150

One of the comics publications I’m most looking forward to in 2024 is almost here — TwoMorrows’ Back Issue #150, a 20th anniversary ish that’s devoted to the unsung Batman artists of the 1970s, such as Bob Brown, Frank Robbins and Irv Novick. (Heck, I’m actually quoted in Ed Catto’s piece on Novick!)

Included are even folks like Dick Giordano, who while not unsung, was better known as a Bat-inker than a Bat-penciller.

Editor Michael Eury produced a terrific piece on Giordano and one section is one of the issue’s highlights — a gallery of Batman merchandising art, including an interview with our pal Rob Kelly, which we present to you as an EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PREVIEW:

By the way, I’m the proud owner of that Batman/Penguin puzzle-in-a-can. Here’s a pic of it complete that I found online (mine is sealed):

Back Issue #150 is due out March 13, though perhaps a little earlier at some comics shops and mag sellers and a little later in others. Either way, you can order it directly from TwoMorrows. Click here.

  3. I loved the double-paged Clark ad with the DC heroes as well as another at the same time with Marvel heroes. Anyone else remember it? Is the winner of that trip to “Gotham” out there to share his or her memories of it?
