Jack Burnley was a workhorse artist for DC in the Golden Age, producing some of the best-known covers of the era. He also, with Gardner Fox, co-created of the original Starman, aka Ted Knight.

Starman made his first appearance in March 1941’s Adventure Comics #61, and was the cover feature for 12 issues; Burnley drew all of them, both the fronts and interiors. He also drew Starman on a couple of All-Star Comics covers.

  1. Oh this is cool! I’m pretty sure the darkroom story was reprinted in a 100-pager in the early 70s!
