13 MARVEL COLORING BOOK COVERS to Make You Feel Good

It’s NATIONAL COLORING BOOK DAY: Break out the crayons…

UPDATED 8/2/23: It’s National Coloring Book Day! Perfect time to re-present this groove from July 2020! Oh, and wanna see 13 DC COMICS COLORING BOOKS? Click here! Far out! — Dan

I never got into the adult coloring book fad, though I do understand its zen appeal. As a kid, though, I had a decent selection of books — usually by Whitman — designed to keep rambunctious (or bored) children entertained.

My faves were my Planet of the Apes issues but that’s a topic for another time.

Nope, instead of celebrating a post-apocalyptic future where everyone dies in the end (great for kids!) we’re gonna show off 13 COVERS of vintage Marvel pubs — coloring and activity books alike. Just because it’s fun and whimsical and we all need as much fun and whimsy as we can get right now.

So dig these — and let us know how many YOU had in the comments.

  1. Love it! I have a few of these (66 Cap and Spidey vs. Spidey) on display in the bottom of a case, because the artwork is so gorgeous.

Well, most of it is. Odd that Marvel Books (an actual arm of Marvel) would release a cover so…off model as that Summer Fun book from 1985. Cap and Spidey seem to have had their legs chopped off, and Iron Man…lay off the sauce Tony.

But it’s still a lot of fun, I had never seen some of these, in particular the Marvel Books. I have quite a few Secret Wars coloring/activity books from them.

  2. I had five of these, including the super weird “Hulk at the circus” one where he’s smiling through the entire thing. At least that’s my recollection. I could be wrong.
