13 MAD FOLD-INS: An AL JAFFEE Tribute

AL JAFFEE has died at 102…

UPDATED 4/10/23: Al Jaffee has died at 102. We’re proud to re-present this (slightly altered) piece from 2016 — when Jaffee turned 95. — Dan

Usually it’s 13 COVERS when one of the greats celebrates a birthday. Al Jaffee, who’s now 95? 13 Mad Fold-Ins!

Now, we could have gone all retro, but the beautiful thing is that this selection — from the editors of Mad themselves — shows just how vibrant the retired Jaffee remained until the end of his career. Not to sound like a condescending tool, but good lord do I hope I still have it at 95.

So here are 13 MAD FOLD-INS, in chronological order. (Dates are pubdates.)
