13 INFINITY INC. COVERS Because It’s SONS AND DAUGHTERS DAY

Really, it is!

When I was a kid, I would ask my Mom — probably because I was angling for some toy —  “Why is there a Mother’s Day and a Father’s Day, but there’s no Children’s Day?” And her deeply unsatisying answer was, “Every day is Children’s Day.”

I didn’t really understand her point and I’d walk off with a little black scribble over my head like you’d see in Peanuts. Of course, now as a parent, I get it.

But it turns out that there is a Sons and Daughters Day — and that day is today!

What does this have to do with anything? Nothing, really. It just gives us an excuse to show off 13 INFINITY INC. COVERS.

Get it?

Good.

  1. Infinity Inc was a fun comic. Ordway did a nice job on that series.

  3. Love Infinity Inc. Fury was my fav. I wish we learnt if her armour accoutrements were wondrously magically fabulous like her Mums (telepathic earrings, Tiara boomerang, standard Amazon indestructible bracelets etc)

  4. Not to diminish any other later creators on the series, but wow, that Ordway/Machlan art!!!

  5. Loved the artwork by Ordway and Machlan. I also liked the whole literal “next generation” of heroes concept. It sure didn’t make sense that the Earth-2 Batman was the only Golden Age hero to have a child.

And having my first letter to a comic published in issue #8 certainly helped make it a favorite of mine.

Infinity Inc. came along at an interesting time. DC was gearing up for Crisis, and the JLA/JSA team-ups seemed to be winding down. On Earth-1, Batman had left the JLA, the Flash was on trial for murder, and Hal Jordan had quit the Green Lantern Corps. The Generations storyline coincided with the Martian invasion and Aquaman dissolving the League only to form the Detroit team. Not too long after that Crisis kicked off.

Before Crisis, part of me wanted to see a JLA/JSA team-up that included the New Teen Titans and/or Infinity Inc. Ah, well, maybe in another multiverse.
