13 GROOVY COMICS CALENDARS: Happy New Year!

It’s 2021!

Dig these 13 GROOVY COMICS CALENDARS — mostly from the Bronze Age. (Including one awesome page from Jan. 1975.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

LOVE this page from the 1975 Marvel calendar. So you get it extra big! Romita all the way, baby!

  2. I’ve still got most of those, and love it when a year aligns where I can reuse one (this year is the 2010 Asgard Press Vintage DC Comics calendar, which isn’t quite the same as these, but still works). I just rebought the DC 1977 calendar (and was outbid at the last second on the 1976, even though the reason my old copy ended up taken apart is that damn plastic binding, which I hated even when I was 11 years old!). I’m still crestfallen that the planned Marvel Third Eye Black Light calendar didn’t happen for 2021.

    • Pops,

Loved those Asgard calendars. Was a yearly tradition for me. It’s a shame legalities, corporate decisions…bottom line: money, put the kibosh on those and they’re now defunct. There was a Saturday Night Live skit years ago called “People Who’ve Ruined it for the Rest of Us”. What ever happened, feels like a shame.

On another note, it always cracked me up to see Conan be part of this affair; rushing towards the fun with everyone else. Always kind of took me out of it.
