13 GREAT POSTERS: A ROGER MOORE 007 Tribute

A salute to the great James Bond actor…

UPDATED 10/14/22: The late, great Roger Moore was born 95 years ago on Oct. 14, 1927! Perfect time to re-present this (somewhat altered) piece that first ran on his birthday in 2015. Obviously, it holds up as well now as it did then. Dig it, darling. — Dan

Man, I loved Roger Moore as James Bond. Certainly in the early years. The Man With the Golden Gun was my first Bond movie and it hooked me for life. (You can read more about that by clicking here, as it happens.)

In any event, dig these 13 posters starring Moore as 007 from around the world.

Right on.

Still my favorite of the Moore posters.

Still my favorite of the Moore posters.

And a close second ...

  1. Live and Let Die was the first Bond movie I saw in a theatre, so Roger Moore really was my James Bond. I think the 70s was also the heyday of beautifully painted movie posters. Even before Live and Let Die, I marveled at the poster for Diamonds Are Forever with Sean Connery standing atop the diamond-encrusted satellite. I was too young to see it, but I thought it must be the coolest movie ever. I know times change and the movies had to change with them, but there was a certain charm to the Moore Bond movies that the subsequent films never captured.

  2. Interesting tidbit on the poster of “For Your Eyes Only.” They had the model put the swimsuit trunks on backwards.
