Time to get your kung fu on…
Between George Wilson and Earl Norem, I’ve had painted covers on the brain. So when the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer hit this week, I was inspired to post these 13 COVERS, mostly from Marvel’s ’70s mag The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu.

I was a little underwhelmed by the trailer. I am currently reading through the Epic Collections, and they have a unique flavor that seemed to be missing. Sherlock Holmes, James Bond, Bruce Lee, pulp mysteries, sci-fi craziness… not a lot of that made it into the trailer, hopefully more will make it into the movie.

The Moench/Gulacy run on MoKF is one of the best. Like the iterations of the character published since the initial series, I don’t think there’s any way the film can capture what made it stand out. I hope it does but, from the looks of the trailer, it’s Netflix-level Marvel actioner.
