13 COVERS to Salute GIL KANE

Gil Kane was born Eli Katz on April 6, 1926. He died in 2000 but today we celebrate the birthdate of one of our all-time favorites with a 13 COVERS Salute!

Mind you, this isn’t intended to be a comprehensive list. That’s not possible when you’re talking about someone of Kane‘s voluminous output. In fact, I’ve left some of his most famous covers off, for variety’s sake. These are just 13 I dig for different reasons. Feel free to include your own in whichever thread you see this — or in the comments below:

  2. He managed to do action and have clean lines at the same time. Back before I even really paid much attention to the idea that there were different artists with different styles, Gil Kane was one of my favourite artists.

I loved the cover he did for Adventure into Fear #20, featuring Morbius…scary, skull-like, but attractive.
