13 COVERS: TIM SALE and the World of DC COMICS

The highly popular artist has died at 66…

The news broke Thursday that Tim Sale, one of the most respected artists of the last 30 years or so, has died at the age of 66. You can click here for more details.

Sale was especially known for his work with Jeph Loeb on the ’90s Batman series The Long Halloween and Dark Victory, as well as the Haunted Knight specials.

But that’s hardly all, so we’ve compiled a striking 13 COVERS gallery featuring a number of different DC projects. (Plus, you can click here for 13 COVERS culled from his work at Marvel.)

This only scratches the surface of Sale’s body of work, so if you have a favorite that’s not here, feel free to add it in the comments.

  2. Tim Sale’s artwork on The Long Halloween reignited my interest in comics at age 40. I got to meet him a few times & managed to get a Selina Kyle sketch from him. I will miss him…his art was so brilliant and unique. Sad…really sad. Thanks Tim.
