13 COVERS: The X-MEN of JACK KIRBY

It started with the King (and Stan the Man).

Hey, it’s X-MEN WEEK! Because there’s a movie with bad reviews coming out this week! I kid. Or maybe not.

Anyway, we do like our 13 COVERS retrospectives around these parts, but instead of breaking it down by decade or “Age,” as we ordinarily might, I decided to call out four great artists specifically. Sorta like the Four Horsemen. Or maybe not.

Anyway, naturally, we start with the King: Jack Kirby. Kirby wasn’t actually on the X-Men for all that long, all things considered, but I picked the 13 COVERS I liked best. Don’t see yours? That’s cool. Just add it in the comments below or in whichever social-media thread you found this.

Oh, and check out the rest of our X-MEN WEEK coverage by clicking for the Index, here.

  1. Agreed. Great covers. I remember buying the first X-Men way back then and can still remember how wrenching it was, so different than any of the whitebread PC DC comics out
