A BIRTHDAY SALUTE…

Ron Frenz is a 13th Dimension fave and it’s also his birthday! (He was born Feb. 1, 1960.)
This year’s salute is culled from his time as Fantastic Four cover artist in the late 1980s.
So dig these 13 COVERS, all inked by Joe Sinnott!

Ron is one of my all time favorite artists. He’s criminally overlooked and underrated. An amazing, fantastic, mighty body of work.

Definitely a great artist. He fit the style of the times perfectly. My only beef is I was not a fan of this version of The Thing.

Me either, Buck. Looking at these covers, I noticed how easily that version of The Thing blends into the landscape. Ron Frenz is a great artist, though. I liked his run on Spider-Man.

Would love a Spider-Man commission. Seems his list is currently full.

Ron Frenz is an underrated artist. I was mostly a DC reader in the 1980s, but I loved his run on Spider-Man during the black suit era. And the two Superman annuals that he drew during the Byrne run are beautiful.
