A birthday tribute…
I don’t know anybody who doesn’t like Bob Oksner’s art — even when he’s aping another’s style, as he did with C.C. Beck’s Captain Marvel for DC’s 1970s Shazam! title.
As it happens, Oksner — born 109 years ago, on October 14, 1916 — worked on 13 COVERS for the Big Red Cheese: 11 as penciller/inker for the main title; one as inker over Ernie Chan’s pencils for Issue #24; and one as penciller/inker for Limited Collectors’ Edition #C-27.
Here they all are, for this year’s birthday salute.

All 1-35 issues are reasonably priced. I just order a bunch for the spinner rack. Seems like they were mostly all reprints.
