13 COVERS: AN ALAN DAVIS Birthday Celebration

Such graceful linework…

I really dig Alan Davis’ art. The illustrator — who was born 65 years ago on June 18, 1956 — has such a unique, fluid style that his work is instantly recognizable and distinctly appealing.

For this year’s 13 COVERS birthday tribute, we’re spotlighting his time on Uncanny X-Men from the ’80s to the aughts.

Dig it.

  1. Love Alan Davis. Been a huge fan ever since I was a kid in England and discovered his work on Captain Britain in Daredevils. I’d love to see a Marvel Alan Davis Omnibus in the same vein as the John Byrne Marvel volumes.

    • I’m American, and Captain Britain is my favorite of his works. Love the character, and love his interpretation. No one else has handled the character properly, in my opinion.
