13 COVERS: A Marvelous NEAL ADAMS Birthday Celebration

Hey, let’s do something a little different.

There are few people I’ve written about more than Neal Adams since 13th Dimension launched some years ago. And the vast majority of that material deals with his years of DC work. That makes sense. First off, Adams is most closely identified with that work. But on a personal level, it’s his work on Batman that was critical in cementing me as a comic-book fan.

So, I was sitting in the car the other day wondering what angle I wanted to take for this year’s Adams birthday celebration. (He turns 76 today.) And it was my son who chimed in with, “Have you ever done anything on his Marvel work?” And the answer’s yes, but only in a fashion — and never with a specific 13 COVERS salute.

So here we go. As always, if you don’t see your fave, don’t fret — just add it in the comments below or in whichever social-media thread you found this. (And if you’d still like a little DC, check out this special, timely post.)

  1. Mr. Adams and Mr. Buscema…the best…period.

  2. John Romita Jr. would have been 13 when he added corrections to that X-men 56 cover! I think you meant JR Sr.
