The late, great Marie Severin — a Marvel mainstay if ever there were one — was born 93 years ago on Aug. 21, 1929. She had a multifaceted career at the House of Ideas and remains one of the most beloved staffers in the company’s history.

  1. I didn’t realize she did so much Cap. I always think of her as one of the best Hulk artists. She had a very distinctive style with the Hulk. Even the small headshot above has that distinctive look

  2. She was one of the best, and nicest people in the business. That #132 might be credited to her, but there’s definitely Gene Colan in that Bucky figure — and probably Cap too.
