The artist was born Jan. 19, 1948. Happy 68th birthday!
When I think of Joe Staton, I immediately think of the Huntress (whom he co-created). When Charlton and indie fans think of Joe Staton, they think of E-Man (whom he co-created). Other comic-book fans think of the Justice Society or Green Lantern. (And Dick Tracy fans know him from the current strips. That’s the 1/19/16 strip above.)
Anyway, I figured I’d spread the wealth for this 13 COVERS salute, with a selection from Staton’s best-known titles.
Enjoy.
(My standard caveat: This is a subjective list and not a ranking of any kind. This is pretty much what I dig and you may feel very differently. So, rather than beef about a cover you don’t see, instead join in the fun and share your own choices in the comments section or in whatever social-media thread you saw this.)
