13 COVERS: A FRANK FRAZETTA Salute

Conan the Barbarian and some rock and roll…

Growing up in the ’70s, everyone talked about Frank Frazetta. He was to fantasy art to what Neal Adams was to comics art. He was revered.

Frazetta was born Feb. 9, 1928 and died May 10, 2010.

Now, typically we don’t mark a creator’s death date with a 13 COVERS salute. That’s usually for birthdays and other occasions. But I admit it: I missed Frazetta’s birthday back in February, so here we are with some classic Conan and some classic rock and roll.

Ride on, Frank. Ride on.

  1. Those exact versions of the Conan books were my senior year reading. Loved those stories.

  2. I had most of those books, but was unaware of the Molly Hatchet connection. It’s the same ax!
