13 COVERS: A DICK GIORDANO Birthday Celebration

The artist would have been 86.

Man, I love Dick Giordano’s art.

Doesn’t matter whether it’s as inker or penciller, he’s one of my all-time faves. (He’s my top choice as an inker, by the way.)

Now, here’s the thing: Giordano — who was born July 20, 1932, and died in 2010 — had a varied and, pardon the pun, illustrious career. But to me, he’ll always be associated with Batman first. Always.

So here’s this year’s 13 COVERS birthday salute. Each cover features Giordano on pencils and inks — and they’re all Batman.

Dig it.

Yes, this is a cover. It’s a back cover. From Detective Comics #483.

  1. I love his work and he could draw the best looking women ever. Check out the first Red Sonja solo story from Marvel that he drew. Man, Sonja never looked as good by anyone else.
