The Golden Age version!

Catman is one of my favorite Silver Age/Bronze Age C-List Batman villains. He was always entertaining when he showed up, which became more frequent to the degree that he developed a bona fide cult following this century.
But that’s not who this is about. This is about the Golden Age Cat-Man, whom we’re honoring with 13 COVERS. (They do look alike, though.)
Why? Because it’s National Respect Your Cat Day, silly!
Cat-Man was created by artist Irwin Hasen and an unknown writer in 1940’s Crash Comics Adventures and lasted into 1946, picking up sidekick Kitten along the way. (His publishing history is as tangled as a cat’s cradle.)

Pants vs shorts??? I’m guessing the editor just didn’t care or those were just some warm summers.

I wonder if there exists any collected editions of these comics? Or at the very least, a kindle/comixology version?

I honestly wasn’t even aware that it was ‘NATIONAL RESPECT YOUR CAT DAY’.
Though EVERY day for me is always ‘Respect your cat day’.

Holy Moly Catman what’s up with costumes pick one already. I thought Kitten was a young boy (like most side kicks back then) & then I started seeing. ?breast’s? On him? then I realized Kitten was a young girl, original concept, except in CATMAN #32 Kitten is now a full grown woman {CATGIRL} ? anywho I just thought that this was a character that DC comics had acquired like so many others that they’ve absorbed. So they are actually 2 different Catmen with similar costumes. Thanks for listening ✌️from SPACE RANGER JYM
