A long time coming …
Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman has gotten short shrift in the overall Batman ’66 merchandising deal. She’s had cameos in the recent animated film and in DC’s comic but that’s pretty much been the extent of it.
The only action figure to be produced is the inch-high HeroClix figure that came out a while ago. Even Bookworm and Shame have had standard-size action figures.
There’s a 1/6-scale Eartha Kitt figure coming soon by a small manufacturer but it’s not sanctioned by the merchandising deal so her outfit is off-model. At least one other company has announced an official 8-inch figure is coming though we’ve not seen even a glimpse of it. There’s probably a T-shirt here or there and maybe a print of some kind.
But now, finally, we’re getting a bona fide, standard-size Eartha Kitt Catwoman collectible. Beating everyone to the whip is Diamond Select Toys, which is adding her to its popular line of minibusts:
The prototype looks purrrrfect to me.
Like the other busts in the line, she’s about 6 inches tall and made of resin. She was designed by Barry Bradfield and sculpted by Jean St. Jean.
It’s pretty clear that they used the Julie Newmar body sculpt and changed the head. But it works nonetheless.
Eartha Kitt Catwoman will be available for pre-order by the end of November with an early 2017 release. Cost? The standard list price is $59.99.
We’ll be back soon enough with interviews with Bradfield and St. Jean about this welcome addition to the line. In fact, we’ve covered each statue and bust produced so far, so check out the full INDEX of stories here.
In the meantime, here’s one more look at the Eartha Kitt minibust:

Wow! That looks great! In fact, it may be the best likeness of all the busts. Love Eartha.

I think they should at least change the Necklace, as it was wider on Eartha Kitt, than it was on Julie Newmar and maybe the body sculpt…
